Sleeping in a room made of pinewood increases the sleep quality
Already our grandparents knew the calming effect of pinewood. Recent studies of the Institute of Non-Invasive Diagnosis of the JOANNEUM RESEARCH (Weiz, Austria) proved scientifically that the inhaling of perfumed influences coming from pinewood enhances considerably the sleep quality, relaxes, and supports the psychophysical recovery in situations of overexertion and stress. In the unpolluted nature of the Valle di Fiemme (Trentino), the pine grows in the high mountain region above 1500 metres and needs over 500 years to reach its full maturation nourishing inside itself a source of precious wellbeing. The beneficial effects of pinewood remain unaltered in time.
Effects on the heart rate
The vegetative nervous system and the biological rhythms of the human body were studied with the aid of sophisticated measurement devices and modern evaluation techniques. These are the results:
- Pinewood reduces the heart rate in situations of physical or psychological stress.
- In the following relaxation phases the vegetative recovery process is accelerated.
- The sensitivity of the heartbeat to the atmospheric conditions is suspended in a room made of pinewood.
- After staying in a room made of pinewood or after sleeping in a bed made of pinewood, the probands felt themselves more extroverted, more open and more loquacious than after a night in a room made of laminate.
